Privacy policy
This policy explains how the Android app Beauty Stock & Shade Studio handles information. In short: everything you enter stays on your phone, and the app sends nothing anywhere.
Who is responsible
The app is published by the developer named on its Google Play page. For any question about privacy or this policy, write to [email protected] — the only contact address for support, general questions and privacy requests.
What the app stores
The information you enter yourself, kept in the app's private storage on your device:
- products: name, brand, category, texture, size, SKU or barcode, cost, retail price, units in stock, reorder and restock levels, stock check interval and date, notes;
- up to four product photos per product that you choose (the app keeps resized copies);
- shades: name, number, hex colour, undertone, finish, units and notes;
- batches: batch number, units, received date, expiry date, period after opening, opened date and notes;
- stock history: sales, deliveries, testers, damaged units and stock counts with date and note;
- shade collections, gift sets (items, packaging and other costs, price) and settings such as an optional shop name, VAT rate, target margin and expiry warning period;
- anonymous client preference profiles (for example “warm undertone, dry skin”, favourite finishes, likes, what to avoid and linked shades).
The app does not ask for your name, e-mail address or any other personal information, and there is no account.
Client preference notes contain no personal data
Preference profiles are meant to describe a type of customer, not a person. The app says so on every profile screen and will not save a profile whose text looks like an e-mail address, a phone number, a postcode, a social media handle or a name with a title. Please do not enter names or other details that identify your clients anywhere in the app.
What leaves your device
Nothing, unless you decide so. Beauty Stock & Shade Studio makes no network requests and has no server, analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking. Data leaves your phone only when you create a file and share or save it yourself:
- PDF documents: product catalogue (optionally with prices and the first photo of each product), shade sheets, stock report and gift set sheets;
- CSV tables: catalogue, shades, batches, stock history and restock list;
- a backup file (JSON, optionally with photos).
These files go to the app or folder you pick in the Android share sheet or folder picker; what happens to them there is governed by that app or service. The e-mail and website links open your mail app or browser.
Photos and permissions
Photos are chosen in the Android system file picker, which gives the app access only to the images you select. The app does not use the camera and asks for no runtime permission. It does not access your location, contacts, calendar, microphone or the advertising ID, and it sends no notifications.
Third parties
No third party receives data from the app. It contains no advertising, analytics or social media components and no in-app purchases.
How long data is kept and how to delete it
Your data stays on the device until you delete it. You can delete individual items in the app, delete everything in More → Settings → “Delete all data”, or uninstall the app, which removes all of its data. Because no copy exists outside your device, there is nothing we could delete or hand over on request — but you are welcome to contact us with any question.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. It contains no adverts, purchases, chat or contact with other users and collects no data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you. As the app processes everything locally on your device and we hold no data about you, these rights are exercised directly on your device as described above. For questions, write to [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how information is handled, this page will be updated before that version is released, with a new date at the top.
